Job Description

We are looking for an intelligent and highly motivated Breaking News Editor to fill in an English Editor position in a local Digital News Agency.

The selected candidate is required to pitch, report and edit local and international news in a timely manner. He must have the ability to generate new ideas of stories and must possess appealing writing features and editing skills.

He must be familiar with ongoing events and stories around the world and mainly UAE.

Responsibilities:

Cover breaking news via News alerts, Social media accounts, Website and CMS.

Skills

* Must be a skilled Editor with outstanding communication skills.

* Prior journalistic experience, 3 years minimum.

* Substantial experience working in a fast-paced newsroom environment.

* Experience editing and packaging news stories, collaborating with media teams, blogging and Newspaper articles rewrite.

* Must have a understanding of digital media tech, particularly content-management tools.

* Must have experience writing, and editing stories

* Full English language capabilities

* Bilingual capabilities are an advantage.

* Must be able to work early morning, evening and/or weekend hours depending when demanded by news coverage or other editorial responsibilities.
