Health & Safety Officer
Job Description
• Promote occupational health and safety within organisation and develop manual for safer and healthier ways of working.
• Inspect workplaces and workplace equipment, such as scaffolding, to ensure they meet safety regulations and to identify hazards and risks
• Ensure that monthly inspection of Fire Extinguishers, Exit Lights and Emergency Lighting, are carried out, Respond to reports of unsafe conditions (e.g. electrical hazards, etc.) by requesting repairs or maintenance.
• Make sure that personal protective equipment, such as hearing protection, dust masks, safety glasses, footwear and safety helmets, is being used in workplaces according to regulations
• Review the transport, handling, storage and use of hazardous materials and dangerous goods.
• Identify areas for potential accident and health hazards, and implement appropriate control measures
• Record and report hazards, accidents, injuries and health issues within the workplace, assist with the investigation of accidents and unsafe working conditions, study possible causes and recommend remedial action
• Conduct training sessions for management, supervisors and workers on health and safety practices and legislation
• Coordinate emergency procedures, firefighting and first aid crews
• Communicate frequently with management and make sure that an organisation is aware of, and complies with, all legislation relating to its duty of care, workplace activities and the use of its plant, equipment and substances

• Musty be a Bachelor Degree
• Must have Professional/accredited HSE qualification equivalent to NEBOSH Certified
• Must have minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in HSE role
• Must have experience in HSE roles particularly in Construction & Engineering
• Must have experience in conducting training courses
