Me complace mucho tener la oportunidad de dirigirme a ustedes por medio de esta publicación, el primer Anuario que realiza EL CORREO DEL GOLFO.
Quiero que mis palabras iniciales sean de agradecimiento al equipo del periódico y a sus colaboradores, que han hecho posible, con no poco trabajo, que esta publicación salga a la luz con un contenido profesional
que espero sea de su interés. Y no me sonrojo al escribir que, reunir el número de empresas y entidades imprescindibles para sacar adelante esta iniciativa editorial, ha requerido mayor esfuerzo del que imaginamos. Por ello, mi agradecimiento de corazón, una a una, a todas las empresas y entidades que han participado. Créanme si les digo que es para pensárselo dos veces antes de afrontar un reto de estas características.
Sin embargo, a la hora de avanzar en este proyecto, inédito en la región del Golfo, nos ha dado alas y fuerza moral querer colaborar de forma decidida a que la comunidad hispanoparlante de empresas, comercios, instituciones y organizaciones presentes en el mercado de la región, cuente con un medio de difusión en español como instrumento vertebrador y de conexión.

Deseo destacar también el inestimable gesto de apoyo que hemos recibido de HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ministro de Asuntos Exteriores y de Cooperación Internacional de EAU, quien nos ha honrado, en las tres primeras páginas informativas del Anuario, con una excelente reflexión sobre lo mucho que comparten dos comunidades como la árabe y la hispana y en torno al gran futuro que les espera a la unión de ambas. Su participación, subrayada de forma muy especial en la portada, nos aportó la motivación necesaria para sacar el proyecto adelante a costa de lo que fuera. Mi profundo respeto para él y mi agradecimiento a Emiratos Árabes, un país del que me siento personalmente orgulloso, por todo lo que nos aporta a los expatriados que aquí residimos.
Si algo evidencia este documento que ponemos en sus manos son los grandes avances logrados en estas tierras por todos aquellos que hablamos español. Estoy convencido de que, a la vuelta de la esquina, a nuestra activa comunidad le espera un porvenir aún más prometedor.

Im very pleased to have the opportunity to address you through this publication, the first Yearbook published by EL CORREO DEL GOLFO.
I would like my first words to be of gratitude to the newspaper’s team and its collaborators, who have made possible, and not without considerable effort, for this publication to come to light with professional content, which I hope will be of your interest. And I do not blush when writing that, gathering the number of companies and entities necessary and essential to develop any editorial initiative, has required in this case more effort than we imagined. For this reason, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all the companies and entities that participated in this Yearbook, one by one. Believe me if I tell you that a challenge of these nature would make you think about it twice.
However, at the time of completing this project, unprecedented in the Gulf region, such endeavour has given us wings and moral strength to collaborate in a determined way in order that the Spanish-speaking community of companies, businesses, institutions and organizations present in the market of the region have a means of dissemination in Spanish as a backbone and connection tool.
I would also like to highlight the invaluable gesture of support we received from HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates, who honoured the first three pages of the Yearbook with an excellent reflection about how much two communities such as the Arab and Hispanic share, and the great future that their union awaits. His participation, underlined in a very special way on the cover, gave us the necessary motivation to carry out the project at any cost. My deep respect for him and my gratitude to the United Arab Emirates, a country of which I am personally proud due to everything it has brought to us the expatriates who reside here.
If there is anything that the document that you have in your hands right now reveals is the great progress made in these lands by all of those who speak Spanish. I am convinced that, just around the corner, an even more promising future awaits our active community.
